Hi, I'm Jonas
A project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Zurich, Switzerland.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
The Beginning
Moving to Switzerland wasn't in the long-term plan. Like many international moves, it started as a work opportunity and soon grew into something much bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complex than they'd expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning on the job. But gradually, routines settled in. We found places that worked for us, met other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built AnchorBluebellSunset
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Switzerland.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical knowledge gained from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a platform for sponsored reviews
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Switzerland continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll keep recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Zurich or anywhere in Switzerland, feel free to reach out.
Cheers,
Jonas
